Children’s Community Clinical Dietitian and Team Lead

Vacancy Introduction

Children’s Community Dietetics is recruiting to a permanent full time Band 6 Dietitian. The postholder will work closely with dietetic colleagues to deliver high quality care to the children and young people across Leeds Community. You will be a registered dietitian with the HCPC ideally with band 6 experience and/or working with children in a dietetic capacity.

Alongside your clinical duties there will also be the expectation to develop leadership skills within the role and you will be allocated specific time within the role to learn and develop as team lead. You will assist in the day to day running of the service and support colleagues with operational queries. For this reason, it is imperative you have strong team working and communication skills. 

The children’s team are a friendly and experienced team. We will explore any learning needs and agree an induction and training plan to meet these.

Interviews are planned for 6th March 2025.

You will hold a varied caseload including home enteral feeding, faltering weight, cows milk protein allergy, nutritional deficiencies and restricted diets. Full training will be provided as needed.
 
You will see patients face to face in clinic/home visits/schools and remotely via telephone/virtually.
 
You will be provided with a laptop and smart phone for hybrid working and remote access to SystmOne. This allows you to work from home or a base. Team meetings are held face to face and virtually.

In your team leader role you will authorise leave, manage ESR/E-roster and plan one to one meetings with allocated staff. Full training and support will be provided on systems.
You will work closely with clinical leads to plan ahead and review caseloads/clinics across the team. You will support staff on a regular basis.
