Lead Nurse
Are you an aspiring leader looking for a challenge? Do you have a passion for improving outcomes for children and young people with a specific interest in school aged immunisations? If so, why not come and join our School Aged Immunisation Service (SAIS) as our lead nurse to support and drive forward change. It is an exciting time for SAIS and your role will be crucial in developing our new contract further. You will be responsible for the ongoing planning and evaluation of service delivery and offer clinical and operational leadership to our supportive and dedicated team of Nurses and Immunisation Support Workers, alongside supervision of the clinical aspect of the Administration teams’ role. Previous experience of leadership and knowledge of the National Childhood Immunisation Programme is beneficial, however we do offer a robust induction and training packages for any identified learning or development need. This role is 22.5 hours - 3 days a week and is an all year around contract.
As the teams Lead Nurse, you will be a positive role model, have excellent communication skills, be flexible to change, be innovative and solution focussed. You will have an active role in supporting work to increase consent and uptake of immunisations for the school aged population of Leeds, collaborating with Schools and other key stakeholders to meet immunisation targets. There is an expectation that you will work across the city to support staff during immunisation sessions, offering both clinical expertise and supervision alongside managing any concerns or escalations. You will contribute to performance reporting and engage with the West Yorkshire and Humber Immunisation Operational meetings and local working groups both externally and within the organisation. The role will continually evolve and will offer you exciting development opportunities.
