Operational Support Manager

Vacancy Introduction

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the operational leadership team working closely with Clinical colleagues within the Neighbourhood Therapy Service.

You will have good knowledge around the support staff need day to day, managing the E Roster, sickness, training and performance. You will have experience of complex decision making and working alongside HR.

You will understand capacity and demand and support with the drive to reduce waiting list times, having the confidence and knowledge to work within business continuity. You will have an understanding of local and national drivers while ensuring the service works within set KPI’s.

The service is citywide, you will be required to travel across the city, being visible is essential when developing relationships and supporting staff. Some flexible working can be considered to ensure a good work life balance; however, this does need to fit in with the requirements of the service over a 7-day week.

As the Operational Support Manager there will be times when you need to deputise for the Operational Team Manager, having good insight into what’s going on in the service and be confident in reporting as a strategic level when necessary.

As Operational Support Manager, you will work with the Operational Team Manager and Service Manager to support and oversee staff across the service. You will manage data related to appraisals, one-to-ones, training, and performance, ensuring you have full insight into quality and outcomes. Using this information, you will work proactively to ensure daily, weekly, monthly, and annual targets are achieved.

You will manage staff on a day-to-day basis, including completing return-to-work interviews, supporting individuals through relevant policies, and liaising with Occupational Health and HR. Working with Therapy Leads, you will help identify areas for improvement and ensure all staff meet expected performance standards.

Alongside the Operational Team Manager, you will support rota oversight. You will also build effective relationships with LTHT colleagues to ensure smooth processes for patients transferring from acute care into the community. The role includes involvement in patient feedback, health and safety, and handling complaints or concerns.

As the service is citywide, you must be able to travel between sites, remain visible to staff, and provide operational support as needed. Flexibility, prioritisation skills, and adaptability are essential. The role is worked over five days in seven, with the option of a nine-day fortnight.

This role is fixed term for 12 Months.
