Pharmacy Technician

Vacancy Introduction

The Medicines Optimisation Team is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our Corporate team supporting the Leeds Sexual Health Service (LSH).

This is a 0.4 WTE (15 hours per week) permanent opportunity based across the Leeds Sexual Health Service, working in partnership with clinical and operational colleagues across five sites in Leeds. The role offers a unique opportunity to make a real difference to medicines safety, governance and service quality within one of the Trust's largest users of medicines. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the safe, effective and cost-efficient use of medicines, helping to improve patient care while strengthening medicines management processes across the service.

Previous sexual health experience is not essential as support and training will be provided.

The Leeds Sexual Health Service uses a diverse range of medicines and treatment pathways to deliver high-quality patient care. As the Pharmacy Technician, you will provide specialist support across all aspects of medicines optimisation and medicines governance.

Your responsibilities will include stock management, medicines audits, cold chain monitoring, Patient Group Direction (PGD) support, development and review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), incident monitoring, and supporting compliance with medicines-related standards. You will work closely with clinicians and service managers to ensure medicines are used safely, effectively and efficiently across all service sites.

You will also contribute to quality improvement initiatives, support the implementation of new medicines pathways and services, provide training and advice to staff, and help ensure robust medicines governance arrangements are maintained. This is an ideal opportunity for a registered Pharmacy Technician who enjoys autonomous working, problem-solving, service development and building strong multidisciplinary relationships.
