SPECIALTY DOCTOR/ GPw EXTENDED ROLE IN COMMUNITY GYNAECOLOGY

Vacancy Introduction

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic clinician to join our Community Gynaecology Service (CGS). This role presents an exciting opportunity to play a key part in strengthening clinical capacity, reducing waiting times within a well-established and evolving service. The post holder will also contribute to ongoing service development initiatives, supporting the design and implementation of improved, integrated patient pathways across primary and secondary care. 

 The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of high-quality community-based gynaecology care while supporting the development of integrated gynaecology pathways across Leeds.

 The Community Gynaecology Service (CGS) is a well-established, multidisciplinary service delivering care across community settings. The base site is located at Parkside Health Centre, Beeston with clinics delivered across multiple locations including:

•            Armley Moor Health Centre

•            East Leeds Health Centre

•            Parkside Health Centre

•            Yeadon Health Centre

The administrative office is based at Parkside Health Centre.

The post holder will provide specialist care for a wide range of benign gynaecological conditions across multiple community clinic sites, including undertaking outpatient procedures such as complex intrauterine contraception (IUC) fitting and removal, endometrial sampling, and vulval biopsies. They will work flexibly to support service delivery, including contributing to triage, clinical queries, and incident or complaint reviews when required, while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team with no on-call commitment. In addition, the role involves supporting clinical governance, quality improvement, and service development by contributing to audits, service reviews, and inspections, and working with management teams to ensure effective use of resources and continuous improvement of patient care pathways.
