Senior Healthcare Support worker

Vacancy Introduction

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior healthcare support worker to join our Children’s Community Nursing Service.   We have positions within our Inclusion Nursing team who provide vital nursing support for students who have complex health, additional needs or Learning disabilities, who attend the Specialist Inclusive Learning Centres (SILCs).  You will be required to work across a number of different school sites within Leeds so the ability to travel between bases is essential.

We work Monday to Friday with various hours from 08.00 – 16.00 and the role is term time only so an ideal opportunity for people who are unable to work in the school holidays.  We support applications for flexible working when we can.

Whilst this is a clinical role, we do not expect candidates to have previous clinical experience, but some experience working with children is beneficial. You will receive a full package of training and will be well supported by an experienced team of nurses.

We are looking for individuals who are caring, fun, resilient and motivated to work alongside a specialist team of professionals.

Interested candidates should love working with children, can engage and communicate well with parents and enjoy being part of a team who will work alongside health and education staff.

You will be responsible for providing clinical care within the SILCs in Leeds.  The work is interesting, varied, and includes delivering tube feeds to children, administering medication, as well as enabling children to attend school and complete school activities.

We operate a cross service model of working so you will have the opportunity to spend time and work with our other clinical teams – Hannah House, Continuing Care and Children’s Community Nursing which on occasions you may be asked to support.
