Assistant Psychologist

Vacancy Introduction

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Assistant Psychologist to join the Leeds CYPMHS Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team. This is a chance to work with an enthusiastic, experienced multidisciplinary team who provide high-quality autism and ADHD assessments for neurodivergent school-age children and young people.
We welcome applications from candidates with prior experience of working with young people and families within a multidisciplinary team and those with knowledge of neurodevelopmental conditions. This job is suited to an individual with enthusiasm for continual learning and professional development. We are committed to enabling the development of staff through ensuring access to appropriate CPD training and regular supervision.

The successful applicant will work as part of a dynamic and supportive multidisciplinary team offering diagnostic autism and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) assessments. The role includes offering direct assessments with children and families, contributing to service evaluation projects and offering support to the ND team in line with service need.

The post holder would work autonomously and as part of a team, partaking in regular multidisciplinary team meetings, under the supervision of a clinical psychologist. Regular training is provided.

The service sits within the wider CYPMHS service and will be based in clinic locations across the city. The post holder must be able to travel independently across the area.
The post offers relevant experience for future Clinical Psychology training.  The department has good links with the Leeds Doctorate Training Course and provides placements for trainees.
