MSK STS Band 7 Physiotherapist

The Spinal Treatment Service aspect of the Musculoskeletal (MSK) Service has an exciting opportunity to recruit to a permanent band 7 physiotherapist. They will work as part of our team of physiotherapists and spinal advanced physiotherapy practitioners (spinal APP’s).

We are looking for an enthusiastic MSK physiotherapist with a interest in spines, with a commitment to high quality care and treatment who is passionate about providing management of spinal patients. The post holder, working alongside the spinal APP’s, ensure that spinal patients receive the best possible care, having the ability to manage and treat a more complex patient caseload in a fast-paced environment, in line with the national back pain pathways. 

We currently work out of a range of health centres across the city. The successful candidate require flexibility in location and when these are delivered.

The candidate will be part of the STS Team, working alongside other STS clinicians and the wider MSK service to assess, treat and effectively manage spinal patients referred to the Spinal Treatment Service. You will have experience and a special interest in managing spinal patients, signposting to other services and working collaboratively with other providers. You will be fully supported to be able to discuss the role of investigation, spinal surgery and other interventions, as well as being able to provide Physiotherapy management. 

It is a high paced, challenging role but you will be fully supported by more senior staff and as part of the role you will undertake a comprehensive competency programme.

You will need to manage an independent caseload and will be expected to support junior staff, as well as providing support to the APP’s. We are looking for resilient candidates who are excellent communicators, and are able to demonstrate the Trusts values and behaviours.

Candidates who have highly specialist assessment, planning, treatment and evaluation skills appropriate to Spinal and Musculoskeletal caseload. Highly complex analytical and creative problem-solving skills in unpredictable situations.

Advanced verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills including communicating complex information to patients/carers and managing conflict when appropriate. Excellent communication skills when liaising with other HCP's and the ability to work as part of a team.
