Vacancy Introduction
An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2x fulltime Speech and Language Therapist (Band 6) to join the Adult Speech and Swallowing Service within Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust.
Our service delivers responsive, person-centred care to adults with communication and swallowing needs across Leeds. You will work in a wide range of settings including patients’ homes, care homes and community clinics, supporting individuals with diverse communication and dysphagia needs.
You will be joining a welcoming and experienced team with strong professional links across the wider healthcare system. We work closely with colleagues in Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust, specialist community services, dietitians, community matrons, specialist nurses and neurology teams, ensuring integrated care for patients.
Leeds Community Healthcare has a strong reputation for being a supportive organisation with a values-driven culture focused on delivering high-quality care to the people of Leeds.
We are seeking a motivated, versatile, and innovative Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist with experience in adult services, ideally within a community setting. The successful candidate will have completed post-graduate competencies in dysphagia and be confident in independently managing a varied caseload.
This role includes supporting the development of Band 5 Speech and Language Therapists, so experience in supervising and mentoring colleagues is essential. You will demonstrate excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to build effective working relationships across multidisciplinary health and social care teams.
We are looking for an individual who is committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centred care, underpinned by a strong clinical evidence base. You will be proactive in developing your clinical knowledge and skills, contributing to service improvement and strengthening the team’s ability to meet local needs.
Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. Reasonable adjustments will be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010.
